Hi i got this kind of message:
Error message: Error occured during stack advisor command invocation: File '/var/run/ambari-server/stack-recommendations/8/component-layout.json' does not exist
on Assign master step. Some answers i found on this forum suggest to set '777' permission on /var/run/ambari-server recursively. But still no luck.
Are you running Ambari As "Non Root" user?
Can you please try changing the PATH for those 3 properties mentioned in the "/etc/ambari-server/conf/ambari.properties" file.
And then restart Ambari Server. By default these paths will be inside "/var/run" which is basically a tmpfs mounted path so please move it sto some other directory like following:
pid.dir=/var/ambari-server bootstrap.dir=/var/ambari-server/bootstrap recommendations.dir=/var/ambari-server/stack-recommendations
