Added disk capacity to VMs, how do I tell Ambari?

Explorer

I'm running a 4 node POC cluster on GCP (Google Cloud Platform).

Each node was originally provisioned with a 10Gb drive. Now that the cluster is up and running, I'm quickly running out of disk space. I've updated the capacity of the drives in the VM from 10 to 15Gb on each node.

My question is, how do I tell HDFS/Ambari it can use the expanded capacity?

Thanks

When you restart the Services, it should automatically get updated if you have added the disk to the same mount.

Are you referring to this 'restart Services'?

Three things happened

  1. The cluster did NOT update reflect the new drive capacities. I'm still showing 86% disk usage
  2. It took almost an hour for the restart to 'complete'
  3. Even when the restart completely, I'm not sure everything came back up. Things seems to get stuck on restarting the NFSGateway. (see below)
