Adding node to existing cluster cloudera with different vendor

Contributor

Hello All,

We have existing CDH  5.4 cluster of 3 nodes having RHEL 6.6 OS of HP vendor. And we are planning to add two more machines to existing cluster. But these two machines are of RHEL 7.1 OS and DELL vendor.

I checked https://www.cloudera.com/documentation/enterprise/release-notes/topics/rn_consolidated_pcm.html#os54 link. I am not sure whether nodes with different OS will work or not.

Can you please let me know whether nodes with different OS will work or not?

Thanks,

Priya

There are many differences between one distribution and another, such as path under "/" or "/etc/hostname" etc

Did you try at the end?

Regards.

Manu.
