Hello,
I found out that any hive-log4j config I changed though ambari will not affect one of the hive server 2.
The reason is amabri does not create/change hive-log4j.properties file in /etc/hive/2.6.0.3-8/0/conf.server or say /usr/hdp/current/hive-server2/conf/conf.server.
Does anyone happen to know the reason of this issue.
Any help will be very thankful.
Thank you.

I solved the problem by adding a new hive metastore service to the same node which has no hive-log4j.properties file in /etc/hive/2.6.0.3-8/0/conf.server folder.

I'm also seeing this with Ambari 2.5.1.0 and HDP-2.4.3.0.
