Just got a thought, if we give give multiple host names at this location, ambari-agents will send those heart beats to those servers. Those two are aware of alerts, planned to point second host name to same database and access as same user. Please correct me. Whether we can do it or not?

@Ram D

Ambari failover can be done in many other ways. The above approach won't work.

You can backup ambari server and set HA/DR for ambari database.

Ambari server will be in Active - Passive mode and same for database.

Please do some research on http://drbd.linbit.com/ and see if you can find a creative way to replicate ambari server blocks to Passive server.

Ambari HA is not supported yet, interesting idea though.
