Hello,
during our preperation of Cluster upgrade to CDH6 we noticed that the CDH6 Requirements site says CentOS 7.5 isn't supported for CDH6.
But CDH 5.14 & 5.15 does support CentOS 7.5. Now were strugelling how to continue.
Ist this just a mistake in the documentation or is there a serious reason for the difference?
Greetings

Hi,
This was missed in the docs, I opened an internal ticket to have it added to that page. We did the 6.0 certification on RHEL-compatible 7.5 OSes back in June.
Sorry about this!

There is the same question related to debian (see https://community.cloudera.com/t5/CDH-Manual-Installation/CDH-6-supported-OS/td-p/79686) do you have an answer to this one as well?
Best regards,
Maurice

As of 6.0 we (Cloudera) no longer support/build on debian:
Sorry to be dissappoint.
We continue support for debian on 5.x though.

A quick clarification please . I have valid enterprise license so do you support CDH v6.x on CentOS 7.x or I should go with RHEL 7.x only ? I don't find much differences between these two but still want to make sure before we build new clusters. Just wanted to make sure which Operating system I should choose for Development, Stage and Production environments so that we get technical support from cloudera.

Hi @Anudas,
As far as our pubic doc says CDHv6.x does support CentOS 7.6, 7.5, 7.4, 7.3, 7.2. Please refer to below two urls:

Thanks and hope this helps,
