Can I upgrde only a part of the stack?

Hello,

I have HDP 2.6.0.3 installed and I want to upgrade only the Spark component from HDP 2.6.3.

is this scenario supported?

Will have problems later?

Currently component ONLY upgrade is not supported see @Jonathan Hurley official response Ambari currently only supports upgrading the entire HDP stack together. However, we are planning "patch upgrades" (https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-12556) which would allow you to upgrade only a single component of the stack. This is targetted for the 3.0 release.

@Shelton I have been looking around for this Ambari feature ( upgrade a single component through Ambari). and found it here https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-12556

it shows resolved in ambari 2.6. Does it mean the feature already in that version? Is there any documentation for testing?
