Can I use Alerts in Grafana?

We had been using the Grafana that comes out of the box with Ambari 2.4.2 but we hit some issues re. IE11 integration, so decided to upgrade to latest 2.6. While we're at it we're looking at upgrading to Grafana 4.x to make use of Grafana alerts - is this a feature we'll be able to use? The Grafana website says
"Only some data sources are supported right now. They include Graphite, Prometheus, InfluxDB and OpenTSDB."

Is this the case? Has anyone got a workaround to include AMS?

It's very simple to use Grafana 4.6 to visualize data from AMS (and many other 3 and 4 versions)

Here is the data source you have to install in your Grafana (see install tab)
