Cloudera Manager Installer and oracle-j2sdk1.6 by default

Cloudera Manager Installer and oracle-j2sdk1.6 by default

New Contributor

Hi

Why latest Cloudera Manager Installer (https://archive.cloudera.com/cm5/installer/latest/cloudera-manager-installer.bin) installs old oracle-j2sdk1.6 instead of 1.7 or 1.8?

CDH and Cloudera Manager Supported JDK Versions: JDK1.7_55 or JDK1.8_31:

https://www.cloudera.com/documentation/enterprise/release-notes/topics/rn_consolidated_pcm.html

# java -version
java version "1.6.0_31"

/usr/bin/java -> /etc/alternatives/java*
/etc/alternatives/java -> /usr/lib/jvm/j2sdk1.6-oracle/jre/bin/java

Thank you

Hello,

Thank you for working with us, reviewing internal information it appears as thoug the lua code base shows that the installer should be pulling in oracle-j2sdk1.7 instead of oracle-j2sdk1.6.

Can you please confirm the time and date stamp on the download you obtained from the archive? Can you also please tell us if the installer is select CM/CDH 5.10?
