Will Cloudera Manager/CDH be upgraded to support Centos 6.6?
Our CM test cluster was upgraded to 6.6 and everything seems to work except TLS encryption. When use_tls =1 is set in /etc/cloudera-scm-agent /config.ini, agent heartbeating fails with:
File "/usr/lib64/cmf/agent/build/env/lib/python2.6/site-packages/M2Crypto-0.21.1-py2.6-linux-x86_64.egg/M2Crypto/SSL/Connection.py", line 178, in connect_ssl
SSLError: wrong version number
Are there any options other than going back to Centos 6.5?
Thank you for reporting this issue. We have started to look at 6.6 as well as the impact of doing a yum update on openssl in 6.5 and 6.4 CentOS as it appears to bring out issue.
I do not have a timeline yet for when certification with RHEL/OL/CentOS 6.6 will be taking place.
Please realize that its critical to remain on certified release with the associated Cloudera release level. New OS release levels are tested against new releases of cloudera. There is a tight coupling of support for an OS release level and testing of CM/CDH release levels due to the significant amount of dependancies across the stack.
Please review our requirements section of the install documentation for clarification on the currently supported OS releases with the CM/CDH version you intend to install.
The place to monitor this is in our requirements section of the docs and the products page on the website (when new versions are announced). Check here:
I'll also ask our community manager if we can get a release info posting that sticks to the top of the community boards as a helpful place to check when wondering about new release updates.
