Could you paste here your logs? Should be under /var/log/hadoop-*

is your Cloudera installed on Linux or Windows

Linux:

Log on to the dead datanode and go /var/log/hadoop-hdfs/ You should see your log files there. You can print it using "cat"

Windows: Check your hdfs config and see whare are your log installed.

Thanks, you mean as hdfs user?

you should check when your node is failing. Try to start the roles again and keep an eye on this, then, paste the error information

Soory to ask but could you please tell me how to start the roles again?
Thanks a lot,

How can I know the IP that I have to set in the host file? Thanks!

I can not see errors in the log. What should I do to get the node alive?
