Envelope error while writing into hive table

Explorer

Hi Team,

While using the envelope tool, I'm getting below error while using the tool to write into hive table:

20/04/08 02:54:32 ERROR run.Runner: Pipeline exception occurred: org.apache.spark.sql.AnalysisException: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.fasterxml.jackson.databind.ObjectMapper.readerFor(Ljava/lang/Class;)Lcom/fasterxml/jackson/databind/ObjectReader;;
20/04/08 02:54:32 ERROR yarn.ApplicationMaster: User class threw exception: java.util.concurrent.ExecutionException: org.apache.spark.sql.AnalysisException: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.fasterxml.jackson.databind.ObjectMapper.readerFor(Ljava/lang/Class;)Lcom/fasterxml/jackson/databind/ObjectReader;;
java.util.concurrent.ExecutionException: org.apache.spark.sql.AnalysisException: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.fasterxml.jackson.databind.ObjectMapper.readerFor(Ljava/lang/Class;)Lcom/fasterxml/jackson/databind/ObjectReader;;

Can you please provide any suggestion to overcome this.

Regards,

Arvind

That it was working on CDH 5.16.1 but not on CDH 6.3.3 tells me that there's some kind of classpath conflict that didn't exist before. I'd suggest modifying Envelope's top-level pom.xml file to point to the Cloudera Maven repository and to use the Spark version "2.4.0-cdh6.3.3".

Hi,

A few questions to see if we can narrow it down:

- Which version of Spark are you using? Is this on CDH?

- Are you modifying Envelope before compiling?

- Are you using any of your own Envelope plugins?

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for your quick response. Kindly find the required details below:

- Which version of Spark are you using? Is this on CDH? --> We are using Spark 2.4 and yes we are on CDH

- Are you modifying Envelope before compiling? --> No, I didn't modify Envelope before compiling. It was working fine before upgrading to CDH 6.3.3 with spark 2.4. Earlier we were on CDH 5.16.1 with spark 2.4. In both case we have used spark 2.4

- Are you using any of your own Envelope plugins? --> Nope

Hi Jeremy,

I also tried to rebuild the jar by updating the spark version to 2.4.0 in pom.xml, but getting below error ( also tried with spark version of 2.2.0, 2.3.0), Do you think I need to change some other parameter in pom.xml to cater below issue?
