Failure in saving service configuration

Failure in saving service configuration

New Contributor

Hello!

I am trying to bring up a simple cluster (1 master / 3 hosts) so i followed the guide below:

http://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/Ambari-2.4.2.0/bk_ambari-installation/content/complete.html

Services:

  1. HDFS
  2. HBASE
  3. ZOOKEEPER
  4. SOLR (http://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/HDP2/HDP-2.5.0/bk_solr-search-installation/content/ch_hdp-s...)

When i try to change the configuration via Ambari UI i get the message "Failure in saving service configuration" not sure if i missed something or an error in my steps.

@rey suela

Are all the host registered properly? With correct password less SSH keys? I see following errors in the beginning of ambari server log.

INFO:root:Executing parallel bootstrap

ERROR MESSAGE: Permission denied (publickey,gssapi-keyex,gssapi-with-mic,password).

STDOUT:

To address this issue please refer to the below knowledge base article

Looks like you are using custom repo. So please check if your Local Custom Repository is working fine or not? http://153.59.129.26/hdp/HDP/centos7/

Hi, Thank you for responding.

I deleted my cluster and started from step 1:

1. Made sure everything is followed in ambari 2.4.2 guide

2. Downloaded the REPO for Ambari 2.4.2.0 and HDP 2.5.3.0 to address the issue in the second mentioned error

3. Installed SOLR.

Observations: I can add configuration prior to installing the services. But after the service is installed, i can no longer edit the configuration and when i do it will display Failure in saving service configuration.

I can proceed to my setup but i still want to know what is causing the failure.

uploaded ambari-server.log file from new cluster. So far i am seeing error about metrics only.
