HCat config file download error in Ambari

Hi,

I am using Hortonworks Sandbox HDP v2.5 in Azure which runs Ambari version 2.4. When trying to download the config file for the HCat Client from the Ambari UI I get the following error:

  "status" : 500,
  "message" : "org.apache.ambari.server.controller.spi.SystemException: Failed to get components "
}

Would you please advise?

Can you please share the complete stackTrace from "/var/log/ambari-server/ambari-server.log" as soon as you get the 500 error. As 500 Error is an Internal Server error hence we will definitely get useful information from ambari server log.

Hi Jay. Thank you for your reply. I cannot see a "var" directory when logged on as root in the ssh client on port 4200. Am I looking in the wrong place?

If you are using HDP Sandbox then can you please check the file location after doing SSH on port 2222 (other ports are not suitable for Sandbox) ?

Example:

# ssh root@127.0.0.1  -p 2222
# then try looking out for the logs.
# less /var/log/ambari-server/ambari-server.log

Hi Jay, I have tried to set up the Putty SSH tunnel on port 2222 but get a connection error. I am on a Windows box. Doesn't the Sandbox ssh client (localhost 4200) run on port 2222?
