HDC - unable to launch cluster

Expert Contributor

When I try to launch a cluster, I am getting this error. I have accepted subscription request and still getting this error.

Infrastructure creation failed. Reason: Unrecognized service response for the dry-run request.

Re: HDC - unable to launch cluster

Also, @Anandha L Ranganathan We just released a newer version of the cloud controller (1.16.2), so if you are willing to bring up a new cloud controller (https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/B01LXOQBOU?qid=1501193662723&sr=0-2&ref_=srh_res_product_title) and then create a cluster, you can give it a try. @Ram Venkatesh is saying that 1.16.2 has the fix for error reporting from dry run.

Re: HDC - unable to launch cluster

@Marton Sereg @Ram Venkatesh What does this error mean? It's not clear from the message what caused the timeout.

Re: HDC - unable to launch cluster

Hi @Anandha L Ranganathan

It looks like the error that you are getting may be for one of two reasons:

  • The Grafana package was not available from its public repo at the time of the cluster install and it caused a failure. If that's the case, a second install should go through.
  • The subnet where the cluster was deployed does not have Internet access and therefore the VM couldn't reach the public repo. Are you using your own custom VPC or did you launch a new VPC with the cluster?

@Anandha L Ranganathan

Can those machines reach the internet? what is your vpc config where you want to deploy your cluster?
