I am doing manual installation and not using Ambari.
I installed Ranger policymanager, usersync and solr audit services on node in my cluster, let's say node-1. My namenode is running on another node, let's say node-2. I ran script "/usr/hdp/126.96.36.199-91/ranger-hdfs-plugin/enable-hdfs-plugin.sh" on node-2.
But I am not able to see anything in audit portal for plugins pic3.jpg . Ideally, I should be able to see an audit log there with http response 200.
Can anyone help to point out what am I doing wrong here?
Your test show Ranger Admin UI is able to communicate with the NN. But the plugins are not properly downloading the policies. I suggest you double check and follow steps listed here for hdfs plugin:
This steps show how to install and enable the hdfs plugin. You are required to yum install the plugin and edit install.properties with the required configuration. Then restart NN.
