I see from the URL in the screenshot that you are using the HDF Sandbox to do this work? The HDF Sandbox is optimized for the streaming components. You might want to try the HDP sandbox instead for services such as Hive. I'd recommend downloading the latest HDP sandbox, where the services will likely work out of the box.
