How to determine which node is Edge node IN Cluster?

Hi,

Is there any particular role/service which distinguishes an Edge node from Other master/data nodes?

Please advise if there is a way to know if any Edge node is defined in cluster or not.

generaly , we deployed the process hiveserver2 , the metastore , the client Hadoop on edge server . if we doesn't have the process namenode and datanode running  on the server . May be it is a edge node.
