How to remove a node(hardware issue) from NIFI cluster ?

New Contributor

NIFI UI is showing that one node is disconnected from cluster of 5. Appearently that node is having hardware issue. UI workflow is throwing an error message for any task action on workflow stating that "Cluster is unable to service request to change flow: Node hostname is currently disconnected". How can I remove defecting node from the cluster through Ambari or through console configuration ? any detailed steps would be appreciated.

@Sri Bet

Here is a good document from Pierre to do both scale up and scale down so look at the second part of the scale down process. Extra care should be taken about possible data loss and how to mitigate that.

Hope that helps

Did you ever find a resolution for this? Any way to forcefully remove a dead node?
