Is it possible to make Pheonix down while running Hbase Up?

Hi,
It is possible to make Pheonix down or disable while keeping Hbase running or if i have to make Phoenix down, Hbase has to be down?
Earliest answer will be much appreciable.

You can turn off Phoenix Query Server if you aren't using it, but I can't see there being too many resource issues. Phoenix is awesome.

Muni, yes you can shut down phoenix while HBase will still be running.
On other note, as Tim mentioned below, Pheonix is really good and doesn't consume much resources, try exploring it.
