Is zeppelin specific to any particular vendor like hortonworks? or Can we configure Zeppelin with any vendors like hortonworks, Cloudera, MapR, etc?

Zeppelin is an Open source product, so you can use it with any Hadoop distribution:

On Google there is documentation on how to install Zeppelin on Cloudera etc. Like:
