MS Access ODBC connection to HIVE

MS Access ODBC connection to HIVE

New Contributor

Hi, I am trying to access our Data lake using access. I downloaded the Microsoft odbc hive connection but it seems that it requires azure. When i used the horton odbc connection and click on it through access after having set it up i get the error "The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between drive and the application". Can some one help me with the correct odbc driver needed to connect access database to Hive.

Have you tried the Hortonworks ODBC driver for Hive?

Here is the link to MS's Hive ODBC Driver:

Here is the link Horton Work's Driver.

https://hortonworks.com/downloads/#data-platform

Scroll down to Horton Works Data Platform Add-Ons and you will see

Hortonworks ODBC Driver for Apache Hive (v2.1.12)

Click on the Windows Button and it will start downloading it.

I have used both HW and MS Hive ODBC Driver and they both worked for me. If your cluster is Kerbrized and you are NOT using Knox you will need MIT Kerberos for Windows on your machine.
