Metron Quickdev installation - How to clear up the data being cached on the vagrant hard-disk ?

Explorer

Dear All,

Does anyone know how to clear some space in Metron quickdev installation ? The space keeps growing rapidly and even I have increased the hard-disk allocated to vagrant from 40 GB to 80 GB, it seems it is not enough.

So how can we clear the different cached data on the hard-disk ?

Hope to hear your reply soon.

Best regards,

Maziar

@Maziar Tasbihi Vagrant creates VMs and each instance of the VM takes up quite a bit of disk space. If you are using virtual box, open the virtual box console. You should see your quick dev VMs in the list box on the left of the window. Right click on a VM you are no longer using and select Remove... You will then have an option to remove the VM or Delete all files. Once you are certain you no longer need the VM, select Delete all Files.

Dear cduby,

I found out that if you enter the vagrant machine, for example quick-dev, and go to the /tmp/ directory, the Metron system has created a lot of .jar files in this folder. If you delete .jar files, it does not affect the functionality of the Metron system, and you will get back a lot of used disk-space. I got back huge amount of disk-space after deleting these files. After I left the system running, I saw that the Metron system is again producing these jar files slowly in the /tmp/ folder.

It would be good if someone can explain what these .jar files are, and how the system uses these .jar files.

Best regards,

Maziar
