Quick Start on Docker container size grow enormous

Quick Start on Docker container size grow enormous

New Contributor

We installed Quick Start on Docker, but we also need kafka on it.

So we had to install parcels and then install kafka on it.

Because we don't want to install kafka every time container is started again, we decided to save docker image with kafka installed, but the size of the container grew from 7 Gb to 11 Gb, so saving an image failed (with commit command). We tried to find solutions to resolve it in internet, but didn't find anything, that worked for us.

Did anybody try to do similar thing and can give advice on it?

Why do you think container grew so big? Do you know any ways to improve it (clean up somehow)?

You can maybe remove the parcel (just keep the extracted one) from /opt/cloudera
