Warning configuration issues on Zookeeper and HDFS after installation

Hi all,

We use for staging purpose Cloudera Enterprise Data Hub Edition Trial 5.4.3 with HBASE,HDFS,YARN and Zookeper.

There are 3 servers, one as master-namenode and two as datanodes.

After the installation had finished we took back two warnings. The first one is:
Service hdfs has 2 DataNodes. Cloudera suggests at least 3 DataNodes for HDFS.
And the second one is:
Service zookeeper has 1 Server. Cloudera suggests at least 3 Servers for ZooKeeper.

I know that I can work even if I take these kind of warnings, but is it possible to remove it from cluster status screen?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Spyros,

These are called Validations, and there is not currently a way to suppress them. We're working on a feature to let you acknowledge configuration issues such as these so that you can confirm you *know* about them, but perhaps are in a tiny demo cluster where they are not relevant to you. For now you'll just wish to ignore the validation warnings since it sounds like you are purposely just demoing a very small cluster and are aware of the configuration you've built.

Hi Mark,

Thank a lot for your quick response. So we have to wait until the feature is enabled on new release.

@Spyros P. - just bringing this to closure:

With the release of Cloudera Manager 5.5.0+, the feature you asked about is now available.

http://www.cloudera.com/documentation/enterprise/latest/topics/cm_rn_new_changed_features.html#conce...

"Suppression of notifications
- You can suppress the warnings that Cloudera Manager issues when a configuration value is outside the recommended range or is invalid. See Suppressing Configuration and Parameter Validation Warnings.
- You can suppress health test warnings. See Suppressing Health Test Results.
- Suppression can be useful if a warning does not apply to your deployment and you no longer want to see the notification. Suppressed warnings are still retained by Cloudera Manager, and you can unsuppress the warnings at any time."

Hope this helps,
