Why do we need sqoop when we have distcp there , if we do not have to require transfer the data into hive or hbase then is there any requirement for using sqoop . sqoop also transfer data from rdbs to hdfs that can be same achieved using distcp .
@Anurag Mishra Yes, AFAIK one of the most common use case for sqoop is to transfer data into hive/hbase/hdfs perhaps from rdbms. If you don't have such use case you will find little use for sqoop.
