can we give less then 100% for yarn.nodemanager.resource.percentage-physical-cpu-limit for OS resources

can we give less then 100% for yarn.nodemanager.resource.percentage-physical-cpu-limit for OS resources

hi all

according to hortonworks document the definition of yarn.nodemanager.resource.percentage-physical-cpu-limit

is:

Set the percentage of CPU that can be allocated for YARN containers. In most cases, the default value of 100% should be used. If you have another process that needs to run on a node that also requires CPU resources, you can lower the percentage of CPU allocated to YARN to free up resources for the other process.

Property: yarn.nodemanager.resource.percentage-physical-cpu-limit

second , as all know - "Number of virtual cores" ( yarn.nodemanager.resource.cpu-vcores ) , should be 80% from total Vcore , so the 20% will locate for the OS

my question is :

instead of above

can we allocate - "Number of virtual cores" ( yarn.nodemanager.resource.cpu-vcores ) , to be 100%

and set the yarn.nodemanager.resource.percentage-physical-cpu-limit to 80%

so the rest 20% will be for the operation system ?
