failed installation of ambari with local repository generates "Server considered task failed and automatically aborted"

centos7.4 x86_64

to install HDP, we configured the UI to build the stack, when we start the build it fails to install and tells us

"Server considered task failed and automatically aborted"

We see a reference to an

repository in these install instructions

that is referred to only once.

The logfile gives us nothing to pursue:

Our local repositories appear okay, Ambari install finds them,

yum repolist

sees them.

we can manually install packages like "accumulo client" a la yum install -y accumulo-something, and this advances us in the GUI to the next install error, so we wonder if there's some naming or reference to our yum Local Repos that Ambari-Server installer can't read; but we sure don't want to enjoy that

death by a thousand cuts

Will appreciate suggestions how to get past this.

Thanks, Justin

Check if you have proxy enabled

echo $http_proxy

try wget or curl on your local repository to get a file and verify connectivity.

Will do tomorrow morn. Thanks.

In the meantime we yesterday downloaded the 17 May 2018 HDP 265/Ambari262 release.

Today I did a hopefully-complete uninstall of HDP264/Ambari2615 from our centos74 AM NN & SNN & 6 datanodes.
