how to solve this error on HDP 2.5.3

We do not have the complete Error stack Trace or the information about what you are doing OR when exactly you are getting this message.

But based on the following message looks like you have "Exception: Expected confdir /usr/hdp/2.5.3.0-37/hadoop/conf to be a symlink" as a directory where as it is supposed to eb a symlink as following:

# ls -l /usr/hdp/2.5.3.0-37/hadoop/conf
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 24 Jan 25  2017 /usr/hdp/2.5.3.0-37/hadoop/conf -> /etc/hadoop/2.5.3.0-37/0

You can try creating that symlink manually to see that message disappear, Or please provide more details about the error.
