Thanks for responding, I would like to clarify your suggestion @lwmonster. Are you asking for a directory of Cloudera employees so you @ mention one on certain issues?
If that is the case it may not be the best solution but I'm willing to discuss it. 🙂
Looking at the Community guidelines you will see the following description of the community.
The mission of the community is to provide a first-class peer-based forum for developers and admins to collaborate on the use of Cloudera’s Apache Hadoop-based platform to build and manage enterprise data hubs.
Primarily the community is a peer to peer forum where users assist each other with issues. That being said, Clouderans do participate in addition to their normal duties as time allows. We also keep an eye out for threads with multiple posters experiencing the same issue. If there is a solution we sometimes turn the content into a community knowledge article so it is easier to find. If there isn't a solution, we sometimes are able to get a Clouderan to reply.
If anyone has a desire for additional support we have several options including the low cost Cloudera Developer Program for Dev/Test environments. As this thread suggests, we are indeed looking for ways to improve the community so I look forward to seeing your thoughts on this as well as any other suggestions you have.

I fixed the image issue in this thread. For clarification, we have a moderation filter for images to help avoid spam posts on the community. The images were waiting for me to approve them but I need to look into your account @csguna. I thought we had removed that filter on Community Champion posts. Sorry about the delay.

Hi @EricLeBouffon,
Thank you for trying out the Quickstart VM. I suggest taking a look at our community article How to setup Cloudera Quickstart Virtual Machine which should get you through the install process.
Best of luck and let me know how it goes. 🙂

@lwmonster If you read the previous comment from @GautamG the issue was resolved in a previous release. Unless something has changed this should be a seperate issue. I would suggest starting a new thread with further background on your specific situtaion.

I have checked with the certification team and Cloudera Documentation is allowed to be used during the exam.

@chancabe if you check the CCA131 certification page and look at the bottom you will find information on the testing cluster.
Each user is given their own CDH5 (currently 5.10.1) cluster running on CentOS 7.3.

@Piks I think we may be having a perception issue but lets walk through this and see for sure. When looking over the certification page, the question format is explained:
Exam Question Format
Each CCA question requires you to solve a particular scenario. Some of the tasks require making configuration and service changes via Cloudera Manager, while others demand knowledge of command line Hadoop utilities and basic competence with the Linux environment.
Looking further down the page, the required skills (see below) should be interpreted as potential questions on the exam. So for instance the first item listed Set up a local CDH repository signifies that you will need to be able show proficiency in setting up a local CDH repository. By looking at the required skills list in this manner, there should be sufficient information available to prepare for the exam. The video with the one example is simply to provide greater context for how the questions will be asked and answered. You should be able to take it from there.
Is there something particular you are looking for in terms of guidance over and above this?
