New OS releases can be tested and certified only with new Cloudera Manager / CDH versions. With the recent 5.13 release, RedHat / CentOS 7.4 is now supported for the 5.11, 5.12 and 5.13 releases, see CDH and Cloudera Manager Supported Operating Systems

I downloaded the virtualbox version of the 5.12 Quickstart VM to double check your results. After unzipping the download the OVF file was present so perhaps you had a corrupted download.
While I have you, I would suggest checking out our community article How to setup Cloudera Quickstart Virtual Machine for instructions on installing the VM as well as common issues people run into.

Hi Mohamad! I keep getting the same error, I set the JAVA_HOME as below: export JAVA_HOME=/opt/jdk1.8.0_141 and when running echo $JAVA_HOME I get the folder. Same goes for JRE, however Cloudera Director does not run. How did you set it? thanks!
