Ignore my previous reply. Hue will no longer be able to authenticate with the Oozie server after making the above changes in a secured cluster. Since I am accessing Cloudera Manager using a browser on a Windows laptop, what I ultimately had to do is configure Kerberos authentication for Windows, as described in Appendix A of the following guide: http://www.cloudera.com/content/cloudera-content/cloudera-docs/Connectors/PDF/Cloudera-ODBC-Driver-for-Impala-Install-Guide.pdf Once I was able to obtain a ticket from the Hadoop cluster's KDC on my Windows laptop, I configured Firefox according to the following: CDH 5 Security Guide - Using a Web Browser to Access a URL Protected by Kerberos HTTP SPNEGO In addition to these instructions, I also had to set network.auth.use-sspi to 'false' for Firefox.

Todd, thanks for the details information. However, I still can't figure it out. (except to reboot the node) my cluster has three nodes: the /etc/hosts are identical as: 127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost 10.122.195.196 hdfs001.demai.com hdfs001 10.122.195.197 hdfs002.demai.com hdfs002 10.122.195.198 hdfs003.demai.com hdfs003 I tested hostname in the following ways: [ptadm@hdfs001 work-demai]$ hostname hdfs001.demai.com [ptadm@hdfs001 work-demai]$ hostname -f hdfs001.demai.com [ptadm@hdfs001 work-demai]$ python -c "import socket; print socket.getfqdn(); print socket.gethostbyname(socket.getfqdn())" hdfs001.demai.com 10.122.195.196 I turned of selinux, and tested: $selinuxenabled && echo enabled || echo disabled disable

Hey In Step 4 are we editing the file /opt/cloudera/parcels/CDH-4.5.0-1.cdh4.5.0.p0.30/etc/oozie/conf.dist/oozie-site.xml manually? We are using CM. I see changes in CM but not in the oozie-site.xml or on Oozie admin UI . Getting error [JA020: Could not load credentials of type [hbase] with name [hbase_credentials]]; perhaps it was not defined in oozie-site.xml?] Thanks

Thanks Manikumar. This is what I believe to be the case based on what I've read in the docs and on some other posts. Regards, Ry

Based on the operating system you use, navigate to the repo file for your system and save it in the/etc/yum.repos.d/directory. For Red Hat/CentOS/Oracle 5 (add the below lines in /etc/yum.repos.d/cloudera-cdh5) [cloudera-cdh5]
# Packages for Cloudera's Distribution for Hadoop, Version 5, on RedHat or CentOS 5 x86_64
name=Cloudera's Distribution for Hadoop, Version 5
baseurl=http://archive.cloudera.com/cdh5/redhat/5/x86_64/cdh/5/
gpgkey = http://archive.cloudera.com/cdh5/redhat/5/x86_64/cdh/RPM-GPG-KEY-cloudera
gpgcheck = 1 For Red Hat/CentOS/Oracle 6 (64-bit) [cloudera-cdh5]
# Packages for Cloudera's Distribution for Hadoop, Version 5, on RedHat or CentOS 6 x86_64
name=Cloudera's Distribution for Hadoop, Version 5
baseurl=http://archive.cloudera.com/cdh5/redhat/6/x86_64/cdh/5/
gpgkey = http://archive.cloudera.com/cdh5/redhat/6/x86_64/cdh/RPM-GPG-KEY-cloudera
gpgcheck = 1 After doing this, you can now see the packages listed in yum list cloudera* Hope this helps.

Just in case someone bumps into this, I'm posting how to avoid this bug. We were using Spanish language in Cloudera Manager. After changing to English (I had to change Manager's settings and Firefoxes language preference) the problem has gone away.

Thanks, but neither of these work. I was eventually able to increase the TaskTracker limits w/ On each node 1. sudo /etc/init.d/cloudera-scm-agent hard_stop 2. Edit parameter in /usr/sbin/cmf-agent script. 3. sudo /etc/init.d/cloudera-scm-agent start Then restart each tasktracker from Cloudera console.

Please check softlink on /etc/alternatives/ make sure they are pointing to correct hadoop config in /etc/hadoop/conf/core-site.xml etc. deploying client config from CM also helps to resolve all the softlinks
