Hi. Thank you for the reply. Just to clarify, the “Deploy” configuration link is available. It’s the “Download” link that I’m asking about. It is not available. However - good point about the gateway role. I notice that I have " 8 none" next to the Gateway hosts status.

We are trying to configure a host to allow client connections to various services on our cluster. For Hive, HDFS and YARN we use the provided "Download Client Configuration" link exposed in the actions dropdown menu for each service. This link isn't active in the actions menu for Spark_On_Yarn, however there is a "Deploy Client Configuration" link available.

Thank you for the reply. I’m familiar with the feature differences. My question pertains specifically to licensing. We are using the express edition of Cloudera Manager, along with Cloudera Director. For compliance purposes we need to list all 3rd party software used within our infrastructure along with license type. For example, most of the Hadoop products fall under the Apache 2 licensing. Does Cloudera Director or Cloudera Manager express edition fall under any specific licensing type?

We are running the express edition of CDH / Cloudera Manager. Does this fall under a specific opensource license? If so, which? Apache.org? We also have the same question for Director. Thank you.

We are using Clouder Director 2.6 to deploy customer clusters in AWS. We have a need to deploy a new CDH cluster within the same AWS VPC subnet of an existing customer cluster. I need to confirm that there is no chance of service traffic in the new cluster interferring with traffic in the existing production cluster. Do CDH services broadcast in order to discover one another on the same subnet? Is there a chance of services in one custer responding to traffic in another? We will be migrating data to the new cluster and shutting down the other within a week after spinning up the new cluster. Thanks

Hi. Thank you for your response. This was reproducible, but a restart of Cloudera Director service resolved the issue.

Using Director 2.6 and remote-bootstrap to launch clusters. I'ved used this same config to launch several clusters so far, but ran into a failure today. From the application.log on the Director server: clusters com.cloudera.launchpad.bootstrap.cluster.UnboundedWaitForParcelStage - c.c.l.pipeline.util.PipelineRunner: Attempt to execute job failed com.cloudera.api.ext.ClouderaManagerException: API call to Cloudera Manager failed. Method=ParcelResource.readParcel. Response Status Code: 404. Message: { "message" : "Parcel for product 'CDH' and version '5.13.0-1.cdh5.13.0.p0.29' is not found in cluster 'Development'." In my client config, I'm specifying the cdh parcel version like so: parcelRepositories: ["https://archive.cloudera.com/cdh5/parcels/5.13/", Why is the install looking for a parcel version under parcels/5.13.0/ instead of what I've specified above? I would expect that specifiying "parcels/5.13/" in the URL would result in the latest version of 5.13 - which in this case would be 5.13.1-x See: https://archive.cloudera.com/cdh5/parcels/5.13.0/ vs. https://archive.cloudera.com/cdh5/parcels/5.13/

I found another post which mentioned the Crash console and cluster reconcile. After performing the steps mentioned in that post, Clouder Director was finally synchronized with my cluster and reported the correct parcel version - afterwhich I was able to deploy addtional worker nodes.

Reconciling the cluster using the Crash console got things back in sync for me. See the following post: https://community.cloudera.com/t5/Cloudera-Director-Cloud-based/Director-pipeline-SUSPENDED-UPDATE-FAILED/td-p/28598/page/3
