More info - according to this link, value of dfs.ha.fencing.methods shows 2 fencing methods, each one is on new line. I believe we cannot enter it using ambari UI. Not sure if that link has valid and verified information.

This is new question based on answers provided at https://community.hortonworks.com/questions/23046/question-on-hdfs-automatic-failover.html Question - If I need to define multiple fencing methods in dfs.ha.fencing.methods (hdfs-site.xml), how should I do that? Is that even possible? I tried putting comma separated values, semi colon separated, colon separated but nothing worked(I got parsing error in ZKFC logs) Please suggest.

Hey Guys, Consider below scenario: 1. I have NN HA configured on my cluster 2. I have configured ssh fencing 3. My active NN went down and automated failover did not work 4. I had to failover manually using -forcemanual flag. What fencing method we can use so that in case of power failure/physical server crash/OS reboot there would be automated failover? is it possible ?

One example: [root@sandbox ~]# find / -name hadoop /usr/bin/hadoop [..] [root@sandbox ~]# ls -lrt /usr/bin/hadoop lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 41 2015-10-27 12:29 /usr/bin/hadoop -> /usr/hdp/current/hadoop-client/bin/hadoop Here /usr/hdp/current/hadoop-client/bin/ will be your Hadoop home HADOOP_HOME is not a global variable, it is used by Hadoop daemons from hadoop env file.
