Try this Remove redhat/centos repo mv /etc/yum.repos.d/redhat.repo or centos repo Remove snappy + devel and then force install snappy 1.0.5 from snappy-devel: yum clean all yum remove snappy snappy-devel yum install snappy* It should pick snappy from HDP repo.

@Satish S Your query must include the token $CONDITIONS which each Sqoop process will replace with a unique condition expression. You must also select a splitting column with --split-by . For example: $ sqoop import \
--query 'SELECT a.*, b.* FROM a JOIN b on (a.id == b.id) WHERE $CONDITIONS' \
--split-by a.id --target-dir /user/foo/joinresults

@Rahul Tikekar Good question..Please see this doc and http://spark.apache.org/docs/latest/running-on-yarn.html When you submit spark job then you define master "the --master parameter is yarn ." In client mode, the driver runs in the client process, and the application master is only used for requesting resources from YARN.

@Steven Hirsch Thanks for the final followup. FYI: I believe phoenix installation ended up installing some other packages that needed for HBASE shell.

@Rahul Tikekar If you want spark client in all the nodes then you can install it using ambari. You can start spark thrift and History server from the ambari. You don't have to do anyting if you are using ambari to manager spark.
