@Ram D you have seen this before. https://community.hortonworks.com/questions/4940/hdp-os-upgradepatching-best-practices.html. Same with namenodes, make sure you have HA. when you failover everything to standby node, take services down on the active (now standby) namenode and patch it.

You're saying the format coming from teradata is orc what you need to do is import into Hive orc table. Look at sqoop user guide for Hive https://sqoop.apache.org/docs/1.4.6/SqoopUserGuide.html#_importing_data_into_hive And our documentation for sqoop

I can almost guarantee you need this oozie.action.sharelib.for.hive=pig,hcatalog,atlas,hive It's a guess but knowing all oozie pain points I have a good feeling. Make sure atlas is in sharelib. That would also explain that it worked before as Atlas was added recently to our stack.

@Todd Smyth from many questions on HCC, usually an Oozie failure on Windows is due to derby database. replace derby with SQL Server and try again.
