@Umair Khan You are correct! It is a problem with the Hive view. I created a new Hive view and now am able to see my data bases again and run queries. Thanks so much for your help!

@Umair Khan I found the file you are talking about in Ambari. The server listed there is correct namenode it should be looking to. Do you see anything wrong with the way it is written? I used the port I found in the Hortonworks documentation.

@Geoffrey Shelton Okot I restarted the Hive metastore and HiveServer2 but I am still getting the same error message. It is also accompanied by a NullPointer Exception but I think that will be resolved once this other error is resolved.

@Geoffrey Shelton Okot I tried to restart the metastore but it said the command was not found. Do I need to be in a specific directory? Below is a screenshot of the fs.defaultFS core-site.xml value. The blocked out sections are the hostname and FQDN respectively.

Earlier today I got an error message stating the "HDFS070 fs.defaultFS is not configured" after upgrading the RAM in my cluster. I don't believe it has anything to do with the RAM but no other changes were made to the cluster and it was working fine previously. I get the error when I go to Hive view in Ambari. I am unable to see any of the databases in the cluster. hive-hdfs-error.txt

@Neeraj Sabharwal I took a closer look at what I typed in before on the ini file and realized I made a typo in the server hostname. I fixed it and got everything installed and working! Thanks so much for your help getting my cluster working. I wouldn't have been able to do it without your support!

@Neeraj Sabharwal To confirm you mean the ini file on the machine running Ambari Server? I previously had the 3 servers listed in the ini file. Does Ambari Server require a restart after they have been added?

@Neeraj Sabharwal Yeah that is correct. I have installed Ambari Server on 1 node and Ambari Agent on all 3. The image below is the 3rd server. When I attempt to perform manual registration for this server I get an error message saying the code below. Registering with the server...
Registration with the server failed.

I retried the install and the error message did not appear this time. I was able to set up one of the two new servers with a couple warnings. I tried to manually install the other server the same way but am getting a blank error message just stating the registration failed. When I look at the repolist something doesn't seem right here. It doesn't look like the table shown in the reference guide. @Neeraj Sabharwal hadoop-support-ambari.jpg Registering with the server...

I have seen that file before and just double checked to ensure all the servers are in the list.
