@Tarun Patel Manually removing (or erasing) the "/var/lib/yum/repos/x86_64/7/HDP-2.4.2.0" will not be a good idea. For clearing the yum cache like "/var/cache/yum/x86_64/7/HDP-2.4" you can just try the following: # yum clean all . However i guess after upgrading the "hdp-select" you should be able to install/start the yarn apptimeline without any issue. Please try that once. ... View more

@Tarun Patel As you mentioned that you are trying to setup "Ambari 2.5, HDP 2.6 and HDF 3.x" But from your error it looks like the installation for "hadoop-yarn" component is happening for version HDP 2.4.2-258 resource_management.core.exceptions.ExecutionFailed:Execution of '/usr/bin/yum -d 0 -e 0 -y install hadoop_2_4_2_0_258-yarn' returned 1.Error:Nothing to do . This can happen if on the mentioned host (where this installation of Yarn is happening) is having an incorrect repo present inside the # ls -l /etc/yum/repos.d . So please check the yum repos. So please share the output of the following command so that we can see the baseurl of your repos from the host where it is failing. We will need to remove any repo file that has "2_4_2_0_258" entry int he baseurl. # find "/etc/yum.repos.d/" -name "*.*" | xargs grep -i 'baseurl' .
