How do I create a child policy using delegated admin policy? Ranger Guide on Delegated Admin - When a policy is assigned to a user or a group of users those users become the delegated admin.The delegated admin can update, delete the policies. It can also create child policies based on the original policy (base policy). @Neeraj Sabharwal I am unclear about the direction. I need to create a user in ranger which only does admin for hbase (for example). right now it seems admin delegation is per policy. Lets say As a hadoop admin i want to provide my dba team access only to hbase admin rights. I don't believe this is possible. If so could you provide steps. Seems others in this post are as confused as I am.

On HDP I am looking for where parquet-pig-1.4.1.jar is located. I checked /usr/hdp/current/pig-client/lib and did not find anything. Also where are 3rd party or custom libraries stored for pig? is it /usr/hdp/current/pig-client/lib ?

I got it working. Here is how I fixed it. Changed from using dns name ie sandbox.hortonworks.com to phyical IP of my vm. and I use :/hbase-unsecure as znode screen shot of my connection to help others using squirrel on sandbox (i removed my IP):

@Neeraj Sabharwal @Artem Ervits namespace:* works! but with a twist. I created a namespace called 'testns'. On ranger I am able to do testns:* and it gives me security access over all tables within this namespace. It worked with all namespace i created. HOWEVER!!! - this does not work with default. So I need to create a new thread on HCC asking community why default namespace (default:*) is not controlable via ranger.
