According to this post you can't run Hiverserver2 in both binary & http mode, you need multiple clients for that. I want to be able to connect via zookeeper to Hiverserver2 either binary & http. How should one go about that?

With Ranger audit logs (both to SOLR and HDFS), do hdfs-audit.log en SecurityAuth.audit in /var/log/hadoop/hdfs add additional benefits? Seems like there is overlapping functionality here.

Hi Gaurav, That looks like a datatype from Esri Spatial framework . Looking at the docs, you can store a geometry as OGC well-known text (=String) and read it back as a ST_GEOMETRY with the UDF st_geomfromtext: https://github.com/Esri/spatial-framework-for-hadoop/wiki/UDF-Constructors#st_geomfromtext Regards, Ward

What is the expected/intended behavior with Hive LLAP when using UDF's like ESRI Geo-spatial queries? In the Hive wiki there is mentioned that only 'blessed' UDF's are accepted in LLAP execution.

@Sriharsha Chintalapani Yay, one step further, I now get the error below, which makes sense because storm-client is misspelled. Any pointers? An exception with message [Cannot run program "/usr/hdf/current/storm-clint/bin/storm": error=2, No such file or directory] was thrown while processing request.
