[cloudera@quickstart ~]$ hadoop classpath /etc/hadoop/conf:/usr/lib/hadoop/lib/*:/usr/lib/hadoop/.//*:/usr/lib/hadoop-hdfs/./:/usr/lib/hadoop-hdfs/lib/*:/usr/lib/hadoop-hdfs/.//*:/usr/lib/hadoop-yarn/lib/*:/usr/lib/hadoop-yarn/.//*:/usr/lib/hadoop-mapreduce/lib/*:/usr/lib/hadoop-mapreduce/.//* The above is what I get when I use hadoop classpath. I am wondering what is the meaning of /usr/lib/hadoop/.//* and also /usr/lib/hadoop-hdfs/./ I know that * matches anything and . stands for the current directory. But i can't make any sense of them being used like that together with double slashes (//).
