Issue was resolved with a reinstall of JAVA and then using the command: /usr/sbin/alternatives --config java

The log file was empty.

After following the steps that are found in the below link the following error happens. Command: sudo service cloudera-director-server start Error message: Failed to start Cloudera Director Server. Return value: 3 [FAILED] When I review the java version Command: echo $JAVA_HOME /usr/java/jdk1.8.0_151 No errors took place during the install.
