I'm glad to see that you were able to overcome the issue! We have very good documenation how to properly install the connector available on the following page: http://www.cloudera.com/content/cloudera-content/cloudera-docs/Connectors/Teradata/Cloudera-Connector-for-Teradata/cctd_topic_3.html Also in addition we've fully automated the installation in our Cloudera Manager 5 and for CDH 5.

Hi sir, the concept you are describing is known in Hive as external table and Sqoop currently do not supports that. It's covered by SQOOP-816: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SQOOP-816 Jarcec

JDBC Drivers should be downloaded and copied into directory /usr/lib/sqoop/lib as is described in the installation gudie: http://www.cloudera.com/content/cloudera-content/cloudera-docs/CDH4/latest/CDH4-Installation-Guide/cdh4ig_topic_13_7.html
