A HA namenode is not mandatory but highly encouraged. You cannot perform rolling upgrades without a HA namenode configured.

Hi Emily, what maintenance version are you using for 2.1.x? Also, what's the data type for the "created_timestamp" column? I assume the DDL for the activeTable is identical to the reorgTable?

Hi Mike, Nifi aka HDF (Hortonworks Data Flow) is completely separate product built specifically for the providing data flow for perishable data and independent from HDP. You can find the download and install instructions here: http://hortonworks.com/hdp/downloads/#hdf

The error is in the value of "version" when registering the agent. The log shows version=***************************************************************************************** which fails when trying to truncate to a VARCHAR 255 in the derby database.

Wes, I would venture to guess this is possible though obviously adds complexity. You'll want to pay close attention to versions of java, yum, python, etc on each node. You may have to utilize virtualenv for specific services to force it use specific versions of these pre-req components. For example, RHEL 7 ships with a python version incompatible with our version of HUE.
