Thanks Steve. I am aware of your points "a" and "b" - we also discussed "b" on the dev d-list on the thread between two of us and Jon.

if its at networking, just download the JAR file yourself, and use the --jars option to add it to the classpath. looks like it lives under https://repo1.maven.org/maven2/com/databricks/spark-csv_2.10/1.1.0/

Finally, I got it. This is what I’ve done to compile (mvn install –DskipTests) without any errors: 1) Open command prompt with administrator 2) Change repo link to: http://repo.hortonworks.com/content/groups/public 3) Require protoc.exe version 2.5.0 4) Require msbuild.exe from Visual Studio 2010 5) Install cmake.exe It should be mentioned in BUILDING.txt.

Primarily so that Ambari can use it to deploy and manage things via slider; it doesn't need to be installed on other machines in the cluster.

It's actual title is "Hadoop and Kerberos: The Madness Beyond the Gate" —there's an HP Lovecraft theme of "forbidden knowledge which will drive you insane" which is less a joke and more commentary. it's actually rendered on gitbook If you are working with Kerberos, get a copy of the O'Reilly Hadoop Security book too. My little e-book was written to cover the bits that was left out: to extend rather than replace. Finally, being open source: contributions are welcome
