You can also download client configs from UI and run diff on each configuration.

I would review the mapreduce section in the manual installation guide, i always refer to it even if i use automated install http://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/HDP2/HDP-2.4.0/bk_installing_manually_book/content/configure_yarn_and_mapreduce.html

I never had a use case where I needed to include 3rd party jars in exportsnapshot or distcp. It's a MR job so it should include, check in the options of the command and absolutely paste the command here if you get a solution.

It's a workaround but in general I would avoid reserved words like 'user' in schema because you always have to set that property otherwise. Rename your data to 'usr'. If this solves your question, please accept the best answer to close this thread.

1. /user/root is my own user directory, you're doing it in /tmp and most likely you will have permissions issues, which you are. Make sure user running query has rwx on directory in schema 2. if you're copying my schema one to one, then you need one more thing as "user" is a keyword in Hive 1.2. My full examples are here https://github.com/dbist/workshops/tree/master/hive/JSON run this before create schema and again before select on the table SET hive.support.sql11.reserved.keywords=false; 3. That depends on your JSON, some columns are part of inner structures and some are on their own. It is normal.

It's turning out more time consuming than I thought. Two things I noticed is first, you cannot have upper case letters in database name and second, after you run setup, it asks you to run a SQL file with schema DDL, in case of Postgres, it always asks to run EMBEDDED DDL SQL which doesn't work. Still struggling with this use case. @emaxwell @Nahappan Somasundaram

You need a destination, choose putFile for example and connect the processors with success relationship, then make sure directory exists on filesystem. Once done, start both processors. Take a look at this example for getTwitter https://community.hortonworks.com/articles/1282/sample-hdfnifi-flow-to-push-tweets-into-solrbanana.html

Picture a scenario where you have one MySQL database server and I'd like to run two Ambari managed clusters. Would name collision occur if 2nd cluster tried to create a database on the same server? Can you use a different name for Ambari database?
