The Keytab Retrieval Script method can be used to integrate with IPA since there is no support for direct-to-IPA keytab management.
See the following documentation for information:

This is fantastic Bgooley! Your solution worked. The cloned VM indeed had the same UUID as the parent. As per your instructions, we stopped the scm agent, deleted the uuid and restarted scm agent. We then added the node to the cluster via Cloudera Manager and it got registered correctly. We can now see both the VM nodes. Thank you so much! Appreciate your help.

>When you mention you are seeing the same problem, does the solution not work for yhou? yum will not work on ubuntu right? so i need to know the corresponding apt-get commands to do this. i would like clear instructions so that i delete only a particular version without disturbing the other version. >When using parcels with Cloudera Manager, it is possible to have many different parcels distributed in the cluster. > Are you using parcels or packages for CDH? Could you explain what steps you attempted to use to upgrade or >what guide you followed? I used packages. as in : http://www.cloudera.com/documentation/enterprise/latest/topics/cm_ig_install_path_b.html During the install it failed a few times due to various reasons. so in those few days of various attempts, i guess that the latest version changed and i wound up with two versions on a host.

What action triggered the stacktrace? The stacktrace is from deep within Spring and suggests system level issue, e.g. out of memory. A few things to check: - server log (/var/log/cloudera-scm-server/cloudera-scm-server.log) - management daemon logs (/var/log/cloudera-scm-firehose/*.log - check "Hosts"->"All Hosts" for memory pressure. The "Resources" tab of individual Host page may help as well

When installing, click the More Options page and add a new URL to specify the version of CDH you need. If you want 5.3.8, add this URL: https://archive.cloudera.com/cdh5/parcels/5.3.8/

The host was only a gateways. I delete this role, then remove the host from the cluster. I should delete this from Cloudera Manager before... Now I still got the error even, the host got no role and no heatbeat from cloudera manager.

Thanks. The last time I saw this issue, it was due to something cached in the browser used to access Hue. Can you try using another browser to see if the problem happens there? If so, you might try logging out of Hue, clearing your cache, then logging into Hue to see if that helps. Hope that helps! Ben

Thank you very much for your reply. According to the agent log, the service account responsible for running the Impala service does not exist on the host. I appreciate your pointing me in the right direction.
