@ed day the issue is most likely that Ubuntu 14 is not a supported OS with Ambari 1.7 and HDP 2.2. Only Ubuntu 12 is supported for Ambari 1.7. You will need to go with Ambari 2.1 or higher to have Ubuntu 14 support.
