@dharam p Looks like some issue at yum/rpm level. Can you please try the following on the host where the package installtion is failing: # yum clean metadata
(or)
# yum clean all
# yum -y install tez_3_0_0_0_1634 . Then try the installation from ambari UI.

@Harry Li I do not see Ubuntu 18 in the Support Matrix of Even the latest Ambari (which is 2.7.0) So if you want to use Ubuntu then preferred version will be Ubuntu 16. https://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/Ambari-2.7.0.0/support-matrix.html

@Deepak SANAGAPALLI The error indicates that you have not properly configured P{asswordless SSH from ambari server host to "aries-hdp-mnode.so.cccounty.us" host. ERROR:root:ERROR: Bootstrap of host aries-hdp-mnode.so.cccounty.us fails because previous action finished with non-zero exit code (255)
ERROR MESSAGE: Permission denied (publickey,password).^M . So please try this: 1. Please verify from ambari server host if you can do passwordless SSH to "aries-hdp-mnode.so.cccounty.us" host ? or not? # ssh root@aries-hdp-mnode.so.cccounty.us . 2. If the above command is asking for password means the passwordless ssh is not configured, Hence in this case please run the following command to push the SSH public key from ambari server host to the agent host. # ssh-copy-id -i ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub root@aries-hdp-mnode.so.cccounty.us 3. Then retry the step 1 to see if password less ssh works. 4. Now retry from ambari UI to register this host. Make sure that IPtables / firewall is disabled on these hosts. And the hostnmae is correctly being reflected when we run the following command on ambari server host or on ambari agent host ( it should show desired hostname) # hostname -f Side NOTE: You must make sure that all your cluster hostnames are in lowercasse else later when you will enable cluster on this cluster then you might face some issues..

@Hamilton Castro The error message indicates that you are running ambari agent on the same ambari server host? Or is it by mistake? We see "localhost" there Error:Request to https://localhost:8441/agent/v1/register/localhost . So please check few things: 1. The hostname is correct? Ambari relies on FQDN. Run on ambari server host to findout it's FQDN # hostname -f Also verify is ambari has opened port 8440 and 8441 on all available interface address: # netstat -tnlpa | grep `cat /var/run/ambari-server/ambari-server.pid`
tcp6 0 0 :::8080 :::* LISTEN 13126/java
tcp6 0 0 :::8440 :::* LISTEN 13126/java
tcp6 0 0 :::8441 :::* LISTEN 13126/java 2. Also please check the ambari-agent.ini file to findout if it is pointing to the correct ambari server FQDN? # grep -A5 '\[server\]' /etc/ambari-agent/conf/ambari-agent.ini
[server]
hostname = ambariserver.example.com
url_port = 8440
secured_url_port = 8441
connect_retry_delay = 10
max_reconnect_retry_delay = 30 . Also please verify if the "/etc/hosts" file is correct and it has the first two lines present as the note mentioned in https://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/Ambari-2.6.2.0/bk_ambari-installation-ppc/content/edit_the_host_file.html Do not remove the following two lines from your hosts file. Removing or editing the following lines may cause various programs that require network functionality to fail. .

@Prakash Punj You will need to install the desired JDK to all your cluster hosts manually on some common location like Example: )on every cluster host same path should exist /usr/jdk64/jdk1.8.0_172 . Now on the ambari server host run the following command to setup the JDK. # ambari-server setup –j /usr/jdk64/jdk1.8.0_172
# ambari-server restart . Ambari Serevr setup JDK Reference: https://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/Ambari-2.6.0.0/bk_ambari-installation-ppc/content/set_up_the_ambari_server.html https://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/Ambari-2.6.2.0/bk_ambari-administration/content/ch_changing_the_jdk_version_on_an_existing_cluster.html Also if you want to install the JCE on your JDK then please refer to : https://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/Ambari-2.6.2.0/bk_ambari-security/content/installing_the_jce.html HCC thread on the same: https://community.hortonworks.com/questions/91401/update-jdk-from-17-to-180-121-on-hdp.html

@Anurag Mishra I guess the command the following command was incorrectyou are storing Private key instead of Public key file. # cd .ssh
# cat id_rsa >> authorized_keys . You should be passing the "id_rsa.pub" file instead like following # cd .ssh
# cat id_rsa.pub >> authorized_keys
(OR)
# ssh-copy-id -i ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub $HOST . Additionally can you please verify if the "hostname" which you are passing to the SSH command is correct? Please run the following command to verify the hostname. # hostname
# hostname -f . Then after verifying the hostname please run the below command. # ssh-copy-id -i ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub $HOST .

@Dukool SHarma Rack awareness is having the knowledge of Cluster topology or more specifically how the different data nodes are distributed across the racks of a Hadoop cluster. The importance of this knowledge relies on this assumption that collocated data nodes inside a specific rack will have more bandwidth and less latency whereas two data nodes in separate racks will have comparatively less bandwidth and higher latency. The following article provides a very detailed description of Rack Awareness. https://community.hortonworks.com/articles/43057/rack-awareness-1.html . Following link provides how it can be implemented in HDP: https://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/HDP2/HDP-2.6.5/bk_hdfs-administration/content/ch_configuring_rack_awareness_hdp.html
