In our experience, this seems to be related to https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-14729 which is solved in HBase 2.0.0 (we are running 1.1.2 with hdp 2.5)

I am concerned that the accepted answer includes advice to delete data. In our case, the master node needed a few restarts before having settled on both which WALEdits were still in conflict and not getting TimeoutExceptions back from the data nodes. Eventually, it had all the outstanding edits resolved and went back to normal mode of operation.

There is no preset limit on the number of fields that you can define in Solr. You will be limited by the resources that you allow Solr to access; RAM, disk etc. There are also cache settings to take into consideration. But when you mention numbers like 100K-1000K, I would suggest that you look at the design of your collections instead.
The limit in size for a particular field varies with the type of field.

We have a need for being able to discern authorization credentials on a document level in Solr. As far as I can tell, Ranger only provides collection level granularity in applying authorization policies. Are there any solutions available for ensuring document level security in Solr within the HDP?
